(sorry for using English)
Like some other people here and in the Tweakers forum, my speed went down this week when the speed was supposed to increase. 300/40 is now 180/40 instead of 500/40.
I've read the other threads and there doesn't seem to be any consistent explanation, so I'm not sure what to do.
I've tested at various times of day and night, with a computer connected directly to the modem (TC7200, bridge mode) via ethernet cable. And of course I've tested via the exact same setup that was reliably providing 300mbps downloads until this week.
I've turned the modem off and on. All the cables are tight. The signal values seem normal (see attached screenshots), which is expected since the cable was newly installed by a Ziggo technician about 5 years ago and the Ziggo street cabinet is 20m from the front door.
We also have a Connectbox (Compal flavour) sitting on a shelf in the closet; we are not using it because of my allergy to the Puma 6 latency issue, since my work requires a lot of VoIP use. Until now the TC7200 has done its job admirably well without these concerns.
Opgelost! Ga naar oplossing.
@BijnaWakker A real pity that you don't get the speed! I have checked your TC7200 and I see it supports only a maximum of 250 mbps by wire. An option to get the full speed is to replace the TC7200 to a Connectbox, but I read you are not a big fan of the Puma 6 chip. What @Bert said is right: those problems have been resolved. When you are still not convinced, I have one option left. Out of courtesy I would like to replace the TC7200 to a non-wifi modem: Ubee 1318ZG. Please let us know if you would like to get this device.

I think it is time for a new modem, the TC 7200 is no longer reliable due to its age. The Puma6 problem does not seem to be present anymore, after new software comes on the modem when you let it activate.

Thanks for following up. If it is possible for me to continue using bridge mode with this device then, yes, I think this would be an appealing option.
You're welcome! PostNL will deliver this free non-wifi modem as soon as possible 🙂
Thank you. I will report back here on how it goes.
This is a big improvement! Thanks again.
