Hi all,
I set up my network to have a 2.4 and another 5 GHz networks. This is because I need a 2.4ghz network for some smart devices (like Arlo doorbell).
The wifi smart boosters are now not working. When I try to pair them again (through the Ziggo app), I am prompted to create a new network.
Is there a way to use the smart boosters for either network (2.4 or 5) or they only work if I select the single (mixed) network? This would be a problem because then some of my smart devices would not work.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks, @Bert 2 questions if you don't mind:
1) You mention in your first message that 'SmartWifi pods only work with the SmartWifi optimization enabled in Properties Wireless and then 2.4 and 5 GHz have the same WiFi name / SSID.' --> This means that even if I put the 2.4 and 5 gHZ networks under same SSID, it wouldn't work because i need to use the mesh service (meaning, I wouldn't be able to have separate networks by gHZ) correct?
2) Thanks for the tip of renting. I checked it out, and it says:
The Deco M4 consists of 3 different pods that you can place throughout the house ( mesh WiFi system ).
It seems that this other Deco would still have the same problem, right?
To clarify, what I need is:
- Have 2 networks (1 for 2.4, another for 5 gHZ)
- Have a wifi extender / booster to BOOST the 2.4 gHZ
Knowing the above, would the Deco M4 still work? Or could I buy an external wifi booster and set it up separately?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
1) Correct. The Ziggo SmartWifi pods need the modem and the SmartWifi optimization.
2) The Deco M4 works on there own TP-Link Deco app and the wifi from the modem has to disabled.
The Deco M4, can have with mesh activated with 2 different networks 2,4 and 5 GHz.

Hi and welcome,
Maybe a moderator can change them for SmartWifi Deco | altijd en overal in huis perfecte wifi (ziggo.nl) , they can be set on 2.4ghz only
Thank you! Do you know if I could ask for this?
Also: If I bought a new wifi extender, separate from Ziggo, would that be an option? Ideally I want to make this work without spending money, but I need to make it work somehow, Thanks!!
You can rent them: SmartWifi pods TP-Link | Deco (ziggo.nl)
When you also rent the SmartWifi Ziggo pods, you can send them back to Ziggo after they are removed from your subscription by a Ziggo moderator.
