Smart Wifipods Connects & Extends 2.4ghz Only

Hi,

I got one Smart Wifi pod to be able to extend my 2.4 & 5.0 wifi.

After various challenges to make it work, I found that it is connecting & extending the 2.4ghz wifi.

After seeing that, I disabled the 2.4ghz from the modem, hoping that smart wifi pod will connect & serve the 5ghz but it still connects & serves the 2.4ghz.

How can I make it connect & serve both 2.4ghz & 5ghz wifi as well?

In the attachment, the 2.4ghz wifi is disabled in the modem & smart wifi pod plugged close to the modem.

Kind regards.

If you have the SmartWifi turned on and you have to do that with a SmartWifi pod, your own settings will be overruled with the SmartWifi pods. Both the 2.4 and 5 GHz have the same Wi-Fi name. Turn the 2.4 GHz back on and the SmartWifi optimization on and save the Settings. See if everything is working properly now, if not, unplug the modem for 30 seconds and later unplug de pod for 30 seconds.

Hi Bert,

I enabled the 2.4ghz from the modem, unplugged the both modem & smart wifi pods, nothing is changed. (Smart wifi optimization is on/

Smart Wifi pod still connects & serves the 2.4ghz wireless signal only even if it is close to the modem or not.

Is there any way to hard reset the smart wifi pod & retry the sync?

De only way to a full reset, is to push reset button for 30 seconds, the SmartWifi pod wil be reset to.

  • I plugged out the smart wifi pod,
  • I reset the modem & did the configuration again,
  • I plugged in the smart wifi pod again,
  • It automatically connected to the modem & still serving 2.4ghz only.

Is there any alternative solution? This smart wifi pod really not smart at all...

At first there wil be connection with the first wifi connection that is seen.

Later there will be a change tot the best stable connection.

One hour after de start from the mesh system is shout be almost optimal.

What kind of devices are those that only connect at 54 Mbit/s to the 2.4 GHz? Do they have a 5 GHz capability?

With this Wifi Analyzer you can see if there is a 5 GHz wifi: WiFi Analyzer - Microsoft Store-toepassingen
