Slow Internet Speed

I have a ziggo subscription with 300 mbit download and 30 mbit upload speed. I never see these speeds, infact I see some ridicilous internet speeds like 10 mbit download. How can I solve this problem? I am sharing the downstream status report below Channel Frequency (Hz) Power (dBmV) SNR (dB) Modulation Channel ID 1 666000000 -1.5 36 256 qam 9 2 602000000 -2.2 38 256 qam 1 3 610000000 -2 38 256 qam 2 4 618000000 -1.7 38 256 qam 3 5 626000000 -1.5 38 256 qam 4 6 634000000 -1.2 38 256 qam 5 7 642000000 -1.2 38 256 qam 6 8 650000000 -1.5 38 256 qam 7 9 658000000 -1.7 38 256 qam 8 10 674000000 -1 38 256 qam 10 11 682000000 -0.7 38 256 qam 11 12 690000000 -0.4 38 256 qam 12 13 698000000 -0.2 38 256 qam 13 14 706000000 -0.2 38 256 qam 14 15 714000000 -0.5 38 256 qam 15 16 722000000 -0.7 38 256 qam 16 17 730000000 -1 38 256 qam 17 18 738000000 -1 38 256 qam 18 19 746000000 -1.2 38 256 qam 19 20 754000000 -1 38 256 qam 20 21 762000000 -1.2 38 256 qam 21 22 818000000 -3.5 26 256 qam 28 23 826000000 -3.7 37 256 qam 29

Downstream exhibits noise on 818 MHz (low MER), possibly due to 4G ingress. Channel 24 appears to be not locked (RCS partial bonding).

Could you post one or more pictures of the AOP (main outlet near electrical meter/fuse box or in living room) and cables, plus splitter(s) and signal amplifier, as applicable?

Additionally, could you post the modem’s full downstream/upstream data, either in table or Word/PDF format?

Hello,

You can see the aop and the full downstream/upstream data in the attachments. I don't use any splitter or signal amplifier.

Downstream exhibits severe noise due to DVB-T and 4G ingress.

I have my doubts about the (outdated) TV/R outlet in the living room being the AOP, since downstream power is quite low and upstream power quite high. Could you post one more pictures of the meter cupboard?

My suspicion about the TV/R outlet not being the AOP appears to be correct.

The living room is connected to an (outdated) VFC 0421 splitter. Could you post a picture of the outlet which the splitter's input cable (marked orange in picture below) is connected to?

I will need to know where the cable with red tape connects to.

It goes somewhere downstairs that I don't have access to. I am sorry

Moving the modem to the VFC 0421 splitter should improve the signal strength and quality, improving internet connection speed and stability as a result. You will need an F/F cable (red connectors), which should have been part of the modem's installation kit.

The VFC 0421 should ideally be replaced with an ESX-02, which is available from Ziggo free of charge.

However, since we did not manage to find the AOP and it appears to be located outside of your property, the other part of the installation (in the inaccessible area) should also be verified.

Sorry my Englische is not so good, but maby you can try to connect you modem on the white cable (with red tape) en try the download speed again.

When the speed are better now you have to replace the outlet into the living room.

For the best connection je can ask Ziggo to check inhome and replace the outlet and connectors.

The cost for that is only once €50,- but better is that Ziggo also check the AOP where the white cable came for, you need to ask access for the time you have a apointment with Ziggo.

@Cyberm85 That is certainly possible, if the other output on the splitter is not in use. The input and output cables could also be connected directly using an F/F adapter. Both options bypass the splitter, resulting in 4 dB less attenuation.

The meter cupboard is approximately 2 meters away from my entrance door. If I place the modem there, do you think I will have a good wi-fi signal with 2.4 ghz?

Difficult to say without knowing the layout of the property. If you run into coverage problems, you could consider renting one or more SmartWifi pods.

I think it is better to make an appointment with a technician. Thanks for your help

A moderator (Ziggo employee) can schedule a technician appointment and will visit this topic within 1-2 days.

Please fill out your address details on this page, these are visible to moderators only.

The ingress interference and non-optimal connection method must be improved.

Good afternoon @emre.se, a very warm welcome at ziggo. I've scheduled a technician for you on April 7 between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM. You can always move the appointment via my Ziggo. Will you let us know how it went?
