Not receiving the desired/subscribed download/upload speed through wired connection

On 18 December 2020 the technicians came out and tried everything to see why my wired connection to my desktop did not reach anything more than 80mb. I received my new moden but the problem still persists.

Going through the checks of my network card etc, it does show the speed is able to reach 1.0 Gbps, but it never goes above 80mb.

Some background:

I initially had the base line subscription of ziggo but upgraded to MAX, thinking this would resolve the problem. Technicians came and could not find problem, suggested new router/modem. They thought it was my lan cable CAT5E, so they used their own CAT6 cable, still the same issue. Has anyone experienced this kind of situation or any suggestions, as working from home is the new norm, this is quite frustrating.

Hi Vincent. Thank you for the enquiry. Yes the other technician came out and everything is perfect now. Thank you for the assistance.

Could you post one or more pictures of your AOP (main wall outlet in utility closet or living room), splitter(s), signal amplifier (if applicable) and cables?

Additionally, could you post your modem’s downstream/upstream signal values?

Hey @Marthinus and welcome to our Community!

Really annyoing that the technician could not resolve the issue. In the meantime we have scheduled another technician who visited you yesterday. How are things going at the moment? Did he fixed it as expected?
