RT Channel

Today, July 1st , I have found out that the RT Channel is no longer available via Ziggo. I have not been informed by Ziggo ( using my email address). Is there a way to get this Channel via any of Ziggo pakkets? Or via another Television provider?

I found the removal of RT from the list of Channels a bit of a surprise. Is it due to Censoring? Or the Russiagate?

In Dutch:

and

Thanks, MaxH. But that information I already knew from the Ziggo website.  The contract  with RT ( Russia Today) was not extended, but it does not provided any further information about the reasons, or actions the Client could take to get subscribed to it again. Through the Community I can see today that the move from Ziggo was announced some months ago, I have not been subscribed to the Community until today, hence I did not have any idea it was going to take place.

I find disrespectful from Ziggo tu suspend a Channel while offering 70 other trashy Channels with very low intelectual content. Why did  Ziggo not suspend the contract for CNN, for instance?

I am not happy

Reasons? Company policy? Money? Who knows. It was announced in a mail a few weeks ago. Maybe in your spam box. There's no possibility to subscribe a single channel. All or nothing. If you want, you can go to www.rt.com.

Thanks. I never received any emails, not on gmail account or ziggo account. Not on my spam or normal email. I do receive newsletters and invoices from Ziggo on my gmail account.

I still believe that Ziggo policies in  censoring what we can watch and we we cannot, is not in my best interests. I started checking for other TV Service providers. From Ziggo I can watch a ton of crappy TV channels I have never watched

Thanks for your help

“I still believe that Ziggo policies in  censoring what we can watch and we we cannot.”

In the Netherlands you can look and find what you want on the internet, there is no censorship.
If you do not find something at one provider, then perhaps at another, In the Netherlands you have the choice of what you want to see on TV or on the internet.

In the news before, years ago:
https://www.totaaltv.nl/nieuws/einde-doorgifte-russia-today-in-nederland
The Russian international news channel RT - better known as Russia Today - will no longer be available to Dutch TV providers from 1 May.

I suspect Russian Today pulled the plug itself.

https://www.breedbandwinkel.nl/zenders/rt

Or there are simply too few people watching Russian Today to keep it on the air, which means that there is too little interest in the news or the content of what is being broadcast.

“ In the Netherlands you can look and find what you want on the internet, there is no censorship.”

The censorship does exist, when the TV Stations are not offered for you to choose. I agree with you about Internet. I can choose and pick what I want to watch, but I do not have to pay for a particular website access ( unless it is private)

My pint, MaxH is that Ziggo is exercising some sort of Censorship when offering only some Channels and not others,  on the same basis of Information being provided to the public.

Having some Channels offered was the reason I switched from Tele2 to Ziggo, but it seems that it was a futile exercise.

Thanks, Again for your information. I will continue my search for a TV service provider.

Waarom staan alle berichten in het Engels?

Omdat TS Engelstalig is.

Dan kan ik het niet lezen omdat ik de Engelse taal niet beheers.

Dit is een goede vertaler.

Ziggo is a Dutch company under the Dutch law an owned 50% Liberty Global and 50 % Vodafone an European company.

Russia has an Internet Act that provides for the establishment of a list of prohibited websites that "distribute information that is prohibited in the Russian Federation."
These websites are blocked.

The Netherlands does not have such a law and blocks nothing.

Good luck to you end of the discussion on my part.

Be rt, thanks for your contribution. I have not asked about Internet websites; but about the availability of one particular Channel ( RT- Russia Today) offered previously by Ziggo , from the Media Box.  Whatever the excuse is from Ziggo not to offer this channel any longer, via the TV Media Box,   amounts to some sort of Censorship. That is my point.

I do appreciate that the Netherlands does not block Internet content, but that is another discussion.

I am an Expat , work and live in the Netherlands,  pay my taxes as Expat, and use Dutch services wherever and whenever available in the country.. That is why my question is written in English. I appreciate the accommodating  from MaxH and Be rt.

This ends this discussion from my part. I already know that Ziggo, from its TV platform,  is controlling what you need to know.. Thanks to all for the enthusiastic contribution.
