How to change LAN IP for ConnectBox?

(Sorry for writing in English, my Dutch is rather atrocious).

How can you change the LAN IP address for the Connect Box? I have my own home network, with its own IP range, DHCP server, DNS server, internal WiFi APs etc., and I am using the Ziggo cable modem only as Internet gateway.

With the previous cable modem (Cisco) I could set the fixed LAN IP to something in my own internal 172.30.xx.xx range.

But in the new ConnectBox I don't see any option to set the fixed LAN IP.
(Of course, I've already disabled the DHCP server on the ConnectBox, so it won't conflict with my internal one). I really don't want to change my internal network configuration to put it in a new IP range just to match the ConnectBox.

Hi Sebastian,

Unfortunately it isn't possible to change the first two octets 192.168 of the private subNet created by the ConnectBox.
It's a rather simple Router. Have never seen one with such a remarkable limitation.

A solution is:
  • buy a decent Router;
  • let Ziggo put the ConnectBox in Bridge Mode
  • connect the WAN port of your Router to LAN 1 of the ConnectBox.
After that, only the Cable Modem of the ConnectBox will be in use for the Internet Connection and the optional Telephone line & you'll have complete control over your network with your own Router.

Regards, Han

A request for Bridge Mode can be done by Chat, Phone, etc:

Marktplaats. For 50 Euro you can buy a nice router. Install AsusWRT Merlin or John fork, DD-WRT, Tomato or OpenWRT and it will do as a a professional router.
