Connecting the modem, not sure which hoofdaansluiting I have

Hi Community,

excuse my English, my Dutch is not advanced enough for this :)

I’ve just got my Ziggo modem (Connectbox?) delivered, along with a splitter and coax cable.

I know that the previous occupant of our house had Ziggo; there is even an old splitter installed on the wall, and a few cables that look like they come from outside. So I thougth everything would be easy to install.

However, there is no place that looks like the main entrypoint / hoofdaansluiting, where I could attach the new splitter and then the coax cable to the router. I’m not sure what any of the other cables and connections are - maybe I need an adapter?

Here are a few photos of my situation:

The existing splitter; but no obvious input cable anywhere...
Not sure what this is
This is for telephone/KPN/DSL as far as I know
And these cables, which I believe come from outside

Can anyone identify the cables and connections, and maybe even say what’s missing for me to set up and connect the model correctly?

Many thanks in advance! :)

The things with PTT on it are telephony.

The CTU-4 is the splitter, the input is the left top connector, TV output is the right top connector, the bottom is data out.

Typically the incoming signal is a green cable (maybe not if you live in an apartment building).
It may be this is the signal coming from the top Tratec box.

But in any case this connection point is outdated. I strongly suggest you ask Ziggo to send over an engineer. As you are a new customer this should be free of charge

@tvooo Good to read that the engineer has replaced the Tratec outlet (AOP). Did you already replace the coaxial cables by prefabricated cables which have a cable quality mark (kabelkeurmerk)
Otherwise it's possible you still have problems with the signal.

The new one + all changes the engineer made🙂

Can you make a picture of it?🙂

Of the old or new one?

The Ziggo engineer came and upgraded the hoofdsansluiting, which was the top Tratec box in the second picture. Thanks for all the help!

Hey everyone, thanks for your responses! I ended up making an appointment with a Ziggo engineer, they will come along tonight. I will update this thread once I know more and it’s hopefully been fixed :)

Hey @tvooo,

Welcome here at the Ziggo Community!

Thanks for choosing Ziggo :-D And also nice to see that you did meet up already with some community members. Did you contact our customer service yet, for an appointment with a engineer? If not then please let me know.

Also these are ancient, cables and connectors should be changed to ziggo certified.
